The New York City Department of Education is seeking highly energetic college students to work in units of the Office of School Support Services for the Summer of 2017. There are three business units under our umbrella including SchoolFood, dedicated to providing thehighest standards of nutrition while offering fresh, appetizing and delicious food to the students of New York City, the Office of Pupil Transportation, ensuring that all eligible NYC students receive safe, clean and timely transportation to and from school and the Public Schools Athletic League, providing & opportunities for educating students in physical fitness, character development and socialization skills through an athletic program that fosters teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.

Positions are predominantly field based and range from audit functions to clerical support. Interested candidates should submit cover letter, resume and transcripts no later than April 7, 2017 to Candidates must be currently enrolled in college classes pursuing a degree with a GPA of 3.0 orhigher, in order to qualify. The salary for the position is $11.00/hour.

Our SchoolFood Service Managers are responsible for managing the overall food service operation in schools. They lead a team of kitchen employees and act as liaisons between SchoolFood, the school administration, staff, students, and the community. Our managers represent our commitment to offering New York City students healthy, delicious, and satisfying menu choices.

SchoolFood Cooks are leaders and integral members of our staff, who oversee the day to day operations of our kitchens and serve the students of New York City. The responsibilities they perform are crucial to the overall success of SchoolFood.
