Cooks/Assistant Cook Training

SchoolFood employees promoted to the position of Cook or Assistant Cook need positive reinforcement in order to efficiently take on their new responsibilities with confidence. SchoolFood Training Centers provide an extensive 10-day program for new Cooks. Some topics that employees will cover during training are: Developing new and positive supervisory skills, culinary preparation techniques, incorporating HAACP principles, time management, recordkeeping responsibilities, problem-solving and communication skills. Providing new Cooks and Assistant Cooks with training helps them gain a better understanding of the many SchoolFood Services available.
